Trailer Tuesday--American Pastoral

At a screening of Hell or High Water this past weekend, I was treated to this piece of gorgeousness, the first trailer for Ewan McGregor's directorial debut, an adaptation of Philip Roth's Pulitzer Prize winning novel, American Pastoral.

It is in the running for trailer of the year, mostly due to the song choice. But this thing looks great. Seems gorgeously shot, love the cast, love Roth's work, though I haven't read this one (but am now).

Just watch it, and enjoy! (And enjoy that shot of Jennifer Connelly's face towards the end. She's still got it! Hot damn!)

Yes? No? Whatta ya think?

    1. So jealous you get to go to TIFF. I would LOVE to go one day. Alas, I'm a teacher in the States and we are in full swing when TIFF happens. Would be hard for me to take vacation that time of year. I hope you'll write up some thoughts when you see it.

    1. This looks like a juicy role for her, for sure! I thought she might be done, letting little sis steal her thunder. Can't wait to see what she does here.

ALL IN! is right, man. I will be there the first day it's here. Reading the book right now. Roth is a fucking GREAT writer. This will be the third of his novels I've read.

    1. However, I am a little skittish about it, considering it's McGregor's directorial debut, so, I am somewhat cautious about it.

    2. Reviews from TIFF are saying that this isn't really good. May not be a big Oscar contender anymore.
